SUNSTROKE PROJECT
Sunstroke Project is a musical group active since 2007.
The group participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 as representatives of Moldova presenting the song “Run Away“ together with Olia Tira.
Seven years later, they were chosen again to represent Moldova in the sixty-second edition of the Contest in Kiev with the song “Hey, Mamma!“ placing 3rd, after Portugal and Bulgaria.
Anton Ragoza is the violinist of the band and the main composer. He has conducted the “orchestra of Chişinău, Moldova, and has won a series of prestigious awards in the field of classical music. Anton has” extensive experience as a performer in electronic music bands.
Sergey Stepanov is the saxophonist. Sergey became famous online as Epic Sax Guy (or Saxroll) following his eccentric solo during the live performance with Sun stroke Project at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010.
Sergei Yalovitsky is the band’s singer, he achieved international fame thanks to his performances as frontman of Sunstroke Project.
Despite Moldova only reaching 22nd place out of 25, thanks to Epic Sax Guy the video of their performance went viral, gaining millions of views and dozens of parodies on the web.
